Yes, upon completing a course on ExpertGate, you receive a certificate or from the expert. This certificate serves as a formal acknowledgement of your completion of the course and may be useful for professional development or record-keeping.

Refunds for cancelled courses on ExpertGate are available for both instructor-initiated and customer-initiated cancellations. If the organising instructor cancels a course, registered customers will receive a prompt refund according to the platform's Payment and Pricing Policy. Customers can cancel their participation up to 72 hours before the scheduled start time and must provide a reason for the cancellation. Refunds will be processed in accordance with the Payment and Pricing Policy once the cancellation is completed. The number and value of milestones are decided mutually by the expert and customer. For example, a $200 project could have one single milestone of $200, or two milestones of $100 each, or four milestones of $50 each.

Carefully estimate the time and resources required, considering potential challenges and building in a buffer for unexpected issues. Yes, there are upfront costs or deposits required for fixed-price contracts on ExpertGate. When a customer and an expert agree to a fixed-price contract, the customer must deposit funds for the first milestone or, if there are no milestones, the full amount of the contract. This deposit is held in the platform’s secured account until it is released to the expert's account or refunded back to the customer’s account. The funds are released in accordance with the Payment and Pricing Policy.

We ensure that opportunities are free from bias, and all customers and experts must comply with anti-discrimination laws. 

ExpertGate prohibits objectionable behaviour and content, including defamatory, obscene, abusive, offensive, harassing, violent, or hateful material. Users must not upload content that promotes discrimination, infringes on rights, breaches standards, or engages in unauthorised activities. ExpertGate takes complaints related to discrimination or harassment very seriously. We have a dedicated team to investigate such complaints promptly and thoroughly. Yes. There is no place for discriminatory behaviour on our platform. ExpertGate reserves the right to remove users who engage in discriminatory or harassing behaviour. We take such violations very seriously and have a strict policy against discrimination and harassment. If a user is found to have engaged in such behaviour, we will take appropriate actions, which may include warnings, suspensions, or permanent removal from the Platform to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users.

Payment on ExpertGate is facilitated through a secure payment system to protect both customers and experts. When engaging in fixed-price or hourly contracts or booking consultation sessions, or registering for courses, customers must deposit funds into the platform secured account, ensuring payments are secured until services are satisfactorily completed. Once project/research project/consultation/course requirements and deliverables are met, funds are released to the expert in accordance with the Payment and Price Policy.

As an expert on ExpertGate, you can request a withdrawal of your available funds at any time. If you do not request a disbursement, ExpertGate will automatically release the funds within 30 days after they are added to your expert account, provided specific conditions are met, detailed in the Payment and Price Policy. 

Payments on ExpertGate are primarily handled and processed in USD (United States Dollar). All transactions, including deposits and withdrawals, are conducted in this currency to ensure consistency. If experts choose to withdraw their earnings in a currency other than USD, foreign currency conversion charges may apply, and the conversion rate may differ from standard rates, so it's advisable for users to check with their financial institutions for potentially better rates.

Yes, your money is safe in the platform secured account on ExpertGate. When you deposit funds into our secured account, those funds are securely held and can only be released according to the terms outlined in the Payment and Pricing Policy. ExpertGate collaborates with Stripe to manage these funds, ensuring they are kept separate from the platform's operational accounts for added security. Additionally, in the event of bankruptcy or unforeseen circumstances, ExpertGate commits not to use user funds to satisfy its debts. The release of funds is contingent on customer approval after service completion, providing a safeguard against unauthorised transactions.

To ensure payment security during consultation sessions and courses on ExpertGate, it is crucial to use the platform's secured payment system for all transactions. When you book a consultation session or register for courses on ExpertGate, your payment is automatically deposited into the platform secured account. This ensures that funds are securely held until the session/course is completed and the customer is satisfied. Avoid making payments outside of ExpertGate, as doing so eliminates the platform's ability to guarantee payment security and support. ExpertGate’s secured payment system allows for a 14-day review period after the consultation, during which time the customer can assess the service before funds are released. If you pay outside the platform, you forfeit these protections and risk potential disputes without the support of ExpertGate. Always conduct transactions through the platform to ensure transparency, reliability, and security in your payments.

For an admin-approved account, the expert will see the "Submit KYC" button.

Upon clicking the "Submit KYC" button, the following fields will appear. Enter a valid "Phone Number" and click the "Continue" button.

You will see the Verification Code screen. Enter the valid verification code that was sent to the provided phone number.

The "Verify Your Personal Details" form will appear. Enter the required information in the fields and click the "Continue" button.

The process begins when a user formally initiates a dispute, notifying the other party. If the other party contests the dispute, it is escalated to a neutral mediator. The mediator sets a deadline for all parties to submit relevant evidence and documentation. After reviewing all materials, the mediator makes a final, binding decision based on the merits of the case. All information exchanged is kept confidential, and parties must accept the mediator's ruling as the final resolution. No, there are no fees associated with filing a dispute on ExpertGate. The platform provides a dispute resolution process as part of its commitment to ensuring fair and transparent interactions between users. 

On ExpertGate, decisions made through the dispute resolution process, including mediation, are generally final and binding. If you believe there has been a significant error or new evidence has emerged, you may request a review through ExpertGate's support channels. 

On ExpertGate, if a dispute arises, the transaction is temporarily paused to prevent further charges or actions and the funds held in the platform's secured account for the cancelled contract or milestone remain securely in the platform's secured account until the dispute is resolved. If the dispute remains unresolved, the dispute resolution process will be initiated according to the terms and conditions enumerated in the Payment and Pricing Policy to make a decision regarding the refund. This decision may involve a full or partial refund, depending on the circumstances. Once a decision is made and a refund is approved, it is processed through the original payment method.

The ownership of intellectual property (IP) resulting from work done by an expert for a customer is determined by an agreement between the two parties before the project begins. ExpertGate does not claim any ownership of the IP involved in projects on its platform and is not responsible for any related issues. It is essential for both the expert and customer to establish a clear agreement regarding IP ownership prior to starting any work. Please refer to ExpertGate's Intellectual Property (IP) Policy to know in detail about your ownership and intellectual property rights when engaging in services on our platform.

If a project is cancelled midway, the ownership and rights over the intellectual property (IP) developed up to that point will depend on the specific agreement between the parties involved. Generally, any work completed and paid for up to the point of cancellation may belong to the customer. However, unpaid work or incomplete deliverables might remain with the expert. It is crucial for the parties to have a well-drafted agreement in place that clearly addresses IP ownership, usage rights, and the consequences of project cancellation. This will help avoid disputes and ensure a smooth transition in the event of a midway cancellation.

The expert's ability to reuse work created for a customer depends on the specific agreement between the parties. If the agreement grants the customer full IP ownership, the Expert cannot reuse the material without permission, as the customer has exclusive rights. However, if the expert retains certain rights or licences, they may be able to leverage general skills, knowledge, and techniques gained during the project, even if the specific deliverables remain the customer's property. The agreement should also address confidentiality to ensure the expert does not disclose or misuse any of the customer's confidential information when reusing work in other projects. Detailed provisions around IP ownership, usage rights, and confidentiality are crucial to enabling appropriate reuse while protecting each party's interests.

If you believe your intellectual property (IP) rights have been violated on the ExpertGate platform, you should follow the notice and takedown process outlined in the IP Policy. 

Yes, you can request an NDA before sharing project details with your counterparty on ExpertGate. Requesting an NDA is a common practice when engaging in projects that involve confidential information or intellectual property. Please note that the NDA is a private agreement between you and your counterparty. ExpertGate is not a party to the NDA and does not enforce or monitor compliance with its terms. Ensuring the NDA adequately protects your interests is your responsibility as a user of our platform.

You can provide feedback on ExpertGate within 2 weeks, when you end a contract or request a refund. You will be asked certain specific questions about your experience with the ExpertGate and the experts. Please remember to be brief, polite and honest while writing a review. Experts also rate their experience with the customer, including communication and project clarity, on a 1 to 5 scale. Both parties can provide additional feedback to help maintain high service quality. This will be displayed exclusively on their private dashboards and will not be visible to the public. Yes, experts are notified of new feedback and reviews on ExpertGate. When customers leave feedback or reviews after completing a project, experts receive notifications to keep them informed of the latest feedback regarding their services. These notifications help experts stay updated on customer evaluations and facilitate ongoing improvement in their interactions and service delivery on the platform.This will be displayed exclusively on their private dashboards and will not be visible to the public.

If you receive unfair or inaccurate feedback as an expert on ExpertGate, you can contest it through our support channels at support@expertgate.org. Our team will investigate the issue thoroughly and consider both perspectives, yours as well as the customer’s before making a decision. While we aim to uphold the integrity of feedback, we also prioritise fairness. Any decisions made regarding feedback are final and must be respected. We reserve the right to remove user feedback and in cases of repeated or severe violations, we may revoke a user’s right to rate a Service or suspend or terminate their account.
